reliability of Macintosh-based servers

I am considering using MCL for a high-availability network server,
and I was wondering if people could share their experiences of the
reliability and throughput of that platform.  I am envisioning a
system that sits in the corner and does not have human intervention
for at least weeks at a time.  Information about various software
versions and components (MacOS/MacTCP/MacPPP/MCL/etc)
and both 040/PowerPC is interesting.
