Great! I hope everyone makes use of it and adds VRML content to their web pages.

Mac-native means developed entirely on the Mac (in MetroWerks C++). The Mac
Live3D that we have shipped is partially developed with Microsoft's Visual
C++ Cross-platform development environment, whose run-time system is having
serious problems.

The rendering engine we use is Renderware (by Criterion). Its speed seems
comparable to QD3D (Apple's QuickDraw 3D) and it is available for the 68K
Mac also; something that is important to us. We have structured Live3D so
that other renderers, such as QD3D, could be programmed in instead, e.g.,
to take advantage of hardware accelerators.

"Cross-platform" Live3D may not work with Netscape3.0b5 and System 7.5.3.
The best current environment for Live3D is System 7.5.2 (on a PCI Apple
PowerMac) and Netscape3.0b4 with a partition size of at least 16MB.

In a few weeks we'll release Mac-native Live3D for the PPC (and probably
68K also). Live3D is currently available for Win3.1 and Win95, and is being
developed for UNIX.
