What is MCF?
MCF, which stands for Meta Content Format, is an open format for representing
information about content.
The goal of MCF is to provide an adequate language for representing a
wide range of information about content. The content targeted includes
web pages, gopher and ftp files, desktop files, email and structured
(i.e., relational and object oriented) databases, etc.
The corresponding meta-content includes indices such as Yahoo!,
gopher and ftp directory structures, email headers, data dictionaries, etc.
Please comment on the
draft specification of MCF.
What is HotSauce?
HotSauce, formerly known as ProjectX, is one of the many potential applications of MCF. HotSauce
is a fly-through viewer for MCF. Alternate MCF browsers, such as the hyperbolic browser
demonstrated by XSoft last week at Networld Interop, illustrate the potential of MCF.

Download the HotSauce (formerly ProjectX) fly-through MCF Viewer for
Macintosh (PowerPC and 68K) or for Windows NT/95. Latest versions were
put up on September 25th. The newest release, in addition to several bug fixes,
features better support for targeting windows, especially when XSpaces are used
together with frames.
