Science Is Elementary

The MISSION of MITS is to promote the teaching of science, mathematics and technology through participatory, inquiry-based methods. MITS presents a new volume of 4 issues of Science Is Elementary (SIE) each year.
Each issue provides resources and hands-on activities for educators that focus on one theme.

LOOKING FOR SOME HANDS-ON/MINDS-ON ACTIVITIES TO ADD DEPTH TO YOUR K-6 SCIENCE CURRICULUM?

SIE is a resource magazine for teachers that provides activities, necessary background information, and extensions/integrations and assessment suggestions for the activities (in Volumes 7 and 8).

The Book Looking and Knowledge Unbound sections provide useful resources to support your teaching. In Good Things Cheap you will find a variety of free or inexpensive classroom materials to send for which are newly available.
The In the Know, Trade Secrets, and Doing Science sections provide activities and background information on that issue's topic.
The activities are selected to provide your students with the opportunity to investigate, develop questions, and communicate their discoveries to each other or to a larger audience.
Each issue of SIE includes nine to thirteen activities.
