Summer Workshop
for K-8 Teachers

The MITS two-week Summer Workshop will take place July 8-19, 1996 in six regions of Massachusetts, with space for 300 teachers:

The theme for this year's workshop is The Forces of Nature: Physical Science in the Natural World. The workshop is based on PALMS principles and methods.

MITS workshops are funded by grants from foundations, corporations, government agencies and individuals. Participants need pay only $25 once they are accepted into the workshop. This fee covers all materials and the granting of 60 Professional Development Points for participants who complete all workshop requirements.

In addition, graduate level credits are available from a Massachusetts State college for an additional fee for participants who wish to receive them as well as the PDPs. This fee will be negotiated by MITS at a discounted rate, and will be announced this spring. Teachers will be graded on an A-B-F scale for college credits.

Requirements:

These requirements are for all participants, regardless of whether college credit will be issued.

Upon completion of the workshop participants will be issued (in August) a MITS Certificate of Completion stating the number of PDPs earned. Transcripts may be obtained from the college.
