Pilot test alternatives for commodity IT acquisitions.

Beginning December 1993, the administrator, GSA, should commence a
twoyear pilot for excluding commodity products and services from
coverage by the Federal Information Resources Management Regulation. The
definition of "commodity" to be used in the pilot should be developed in
consultation with appropriate congressional officials, the interagency
task team recommended above, and industry.
