BEP Regulation Reduction
BEP Regulation Reduction
The Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has
announced that it has met the goals of the President's September 1993
Executive Order to reduce internal regulations by 50%. The regulatory
reduction effort required the assistance of most BEP staff to identify
candidate regulations to be eliminated. The Bureau's Office of
Management Services (OMS) took the lead during the effort, which was
headed by Ed Sheehan. "Our new directives database program monitored
and tracked our regulatory reduction project on a day to day basis,"
said Ed, "and this allowed us to focus our efforts where needed. Now we
have succeeded and a second benefit will accrue-- a user friendly,
streamlined and up to date directives database management system has
been developed which will enable us to manage our program more
efficiently."
