Basic: colored balls and a range of other icons.

Lines: interesting lines to replace <HR>.

Buttons: a clean set of button with arrows but essentially not colored balls.

Gizmos: a small, consistent set of buttons with embedded balls.

Rutgers: A set of icons useful for network service and a number of motion arrows.

W3 Emacs Mode: monochrome icons used by W3 Mode in Emacs. Not very spiffy.

If you're still unsatisfied, you can start looking for better stuff here, NOSC, NOSC2, UCSD, Brigham Young, CERN. Somebody might want to make some sense out of the Italian offering and Sandra's Clip Art Server.

Please keep all the indices up to date and don't move icons that may already be in use by other W3 pages. It might be worth having a CGI script to perform this function. Think about good names when installing new icons, so that backward compatibility is not an issue.
