AI Olympic Foosball
Vital Info:
Where: 7th floor playroom
When: Monday, January 29, 11am to 1pm
Equipment
- An opposable thumb.
- As much of your team as you can muster.
Some Important Rules
- There is NO SPINNING. This is a huge disadvantage to newbies,
but it is a necessary for the safety of the table.
- No contact between you and the opposing players, but taunting is
more than acceptable.
AI Olympic Scoring
- The four teams will be divided into two approximately equal
teams for two seperate games.
- The two teams will queue up (similar to volleyball rotations).
Each player will play defense, then offense, then queue back in
line. The rotation will be every 1 minute. For each "game", you
may only enter the queue and leave the queue once (e.g., no
shuffling players once the game has started).
- Each person who rotates gets one personal goal(PG) for showing
up. Each goal scored on the opposing team while you are on the
table counts for 1 personal goal (even if they score on themselves).
The team score will be the sum of (PG)^f for each team member, where
f is an as yet undetermined constant between 0 and 1.
- Olympic points will be awarded as follows: 5 Olympic points to
the team with the best composite score, 3 olympic points for 2nd
place, 2 olympic points for 3rd place, and 1 olympic point for 4th
place.
