Olympic Dinner

How to Prepare

Each team will prepare and serve one dinner one evening. Each team has a budget of $250 (receipts will be collected and the teams refunded). The schedule for which teams serve when and where is as follows:
WhoWhenWhere
The SupersThursday, 21st8th floor playroom
The WondersThursday, 21st9th floor conference room
The SpidersFriday, 22nd8th floor playroom
The HulksFriday, 22nd9th floor conference room

You will be judged (see below) on the quality, quantity (whether or not everyone gets served), and presentation of the food served.

How to Eat

Everyone gets to attend both days of the dinner. In fact your participation is necessary (and you get fed!) and garners points for your team. Here's how it works. Before eating, you must go to the 7th floor vision lab and gain an entry ticket. Olympians whose teams are cooking that day will be given a ticket to the dinner of the other team who is cooking that day. Olympians whose teams are not cooking will be randomly given a ticket to one of the two dinners. You must attend the dinner of the team whose ticket you have. Eat, enjoy, be merry.

Please note that this means that two teams each day will have to both serve and eat dinner. Each team will be have to figure out how to arrange this (notice that there are participation points -- so you can't have your whole team serving since then no one would be eating).

How to Win

Thus, after two days, everyone will have eaten two dinners from other teams. I now ask that you put away petty squabbles and be fair and unbiased. Everyone who ate two dinners will be given a form on which they will rank the two dinners they ate according to six criteria: effort, quality, quantity, presentation, variety, and creativity.

Each team will thus be compared to two other teams on six categories. This produces twelve comparisons. That team receives a score which is the sum of the percentages of ballots which voted for that team on each comparison (thus a maximum of 1200 points) plus 20 points for each team member who turns in a ballot.

Please note that quantity is only whether or not you received enough food. We are not encouraging teams to waste food. If you recevied enough food from both teams, then you would rank them as equal on that category.
