Johnson Indoor Track: 12 Noon, Thursday January 28th

Balls will be provided. Bring your own shoes and shorts.

The tournament will consist of two rounds: a preliminary round-robin bracket, followed by two playoff matches--a championship game and a consolation match. Each game will consist of two 10 minute halves with a brief half time, just long enough to change sides. There will be eight 20 minute games in total, with each team playing exactly four games. We'll probably have eight people to a team, with unlimited substitutions (allowed at the referee's discretion at any stoppage in play). We may adjust the team sizes once we see how many people actually participate.

Notice each team will play exactly two games back-to-back, unless either the Hulks or the Wonders play in the consolation match. The schedule also tries to provide each team with at least one game at the begining and at the end, so everyone should have a chance to play at least one match.
12 Noon - Assemble at Indoor Track (Upstairs in the Johnson Athletic Center) - Demonstration of off-sides rule, for those who are unfamiliar with it.
  • 12:05 - Wonders vs. Supers
  • 12:30 - Wonders vs. Spiders
  • 12:55 - Hulks vs. Spiders
  • 1:20 - Hulks vs. Supers
  • 1:45 - Spiders vs. Supers
  • 2:15 - Hulks vs. Wonders
  • 2:40 - Consolation Match (#4 vs. #3)
  • 3:05 - Championship Match (#2 vs. #1)

  • The games will be played using something that approximates the Offical FIFA Soccer rules, although the commisioner reserves the right to relax some of the rules as he sees fit. Basically, get the ball into the other team's net, don't touch the ball with your hands, and don't be offsides too often..

    Scoring:

  • In any game, a victory is worth 3 points, a tie worth 1, and a loss worth 0 points.
  • Each team will receive 1 point for every person that plays in the event and makes contact with the ball at least once during the run of play! A player cannot be counted if that player does not touch the ball! A player is only counted once, regardless of how many games the player plays.
  • 2 points for each different person scoring a goal for your team
  • Overall Olympic scoring will be 5 3 2 1 as usual
