Registering To Vote


Registration in person takes place at the Office of the Election Commission, Room 308, 362 Green Street. The Commission office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

A person may also register to vote by filling out a Mail-In Voter Registration Form and returning it to the Election Commission Office. Mail-in forms are currently available at the following locations: all Cambridge branches of the U.S. Post Office; all branches of the Cambridge Public Library; all public housing locations; all public and private schools in Cambridge, both elementary and high schools; Cambridge Hospital and the neighborhood health clinics; at City Hall in the offices of the City Clerk, the Finance Department, and Personnel; at the Community Learning Center, the Consumer's Council, the Council on Aging, Human Services, and Traffic and Parking.

On Saturdays during the summer, from June 3rd to September 30th, voter registration tables are staffed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Central, Harvard, and Porter Squares, at the U.S. Trust Middlesex Bank, on the corner of Mass. Ave. and Prospect Street; in front of The Body Shop at the corner of Mass. Ave. and Church Street; and in front of Bruegger's Bagel Bakery at the corner of Mass. Ave. and Upland Road.

On Wednesday, October 18th, the last day for registration, the Election Commission Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
