Distributions are separated, by date, into subdirectories.  Within
each subdirectory the tar files are arranged as follows:

CAM8dist-*_*_*.tar.Z
        The latest distribution of all the CAM8 sowtware.  It
        includes all of the stuff below.

XCAM-*.tar.Z
        The latest distribution of the XCAM software tared and compressed.
        You will find untared versions of the CONCEPTS, README, TODO and
        protocol.notes files which serve as documentation for now.

devdri-*.tar.Z
        The latest distribution of the CAM8 device driver software.  This
        is version 3.0 which fixes a number of bugs.  Remember that the step
        software must be rebuilt when you obtain this new device driver.

CAMlib-*.tar.Z
        The latest version of the cam8 library.  This library includes the
        source code for the PipeComm communication package that XCAM uses.
        It also contains usefull C routines for interfacing XCAM to C
        programs.  This library is still under construction and will
        eventually contain lots of usefull C routines that make life w/CAM8
        easier.

step-*.tar.Z
        The latest distribution of the STEP control program.  Also a brief
        description of the extensions to Forth that were written for
        controlling CAM8.

campat-*.tar.Z
        The latest version of the campat program which is a simple utility
        for generating pattern files.

ppmtools-*.tar.Z
        The latest version of the ppmtopat and pattoppm programs which are
        used for converting from pattern files to ppm files and vice versa.

cam8sim-*.tar.Z
        An old version of the simulator tared and compressed.  You will
        need to get the step software along with this.  A compressed copy
        of Milan Shah's thesis (which describes the simulator) can also
        be found here.

pbmplus.tar.Z
xv-3.01.tar.Z
        The distributions of the 3rd party software that we use as
        obtained off the net.
