Admin status In case the group system is activated, there are two different levels of users: a super admin and group admin. During the setup, an admin called 'root' is created. He can create, modify or delete groups and has access to all groups. Only he is allowed to assign users to other groups. However if you create another admin and assign him to a group, his actions are limited to this specific group. It is strongly recommended that you leave the status of the 'root' and create a new admin instead which you assign to a group Here you can add, modify or delete users. Create or modify: the fields 'family name', 'password' and 'short name' and 'loginname' have to be filled in, all other fields are optional. The user has to be assigned into one group at least, and the default group (appears after the login) must be an element of the additional groups. The field 'Access' handles the privileges for the user and the visibility of his calendar:
Delete: The following data sets will be deleted: the data set of the user, his profiles, his schedule and his todo lists. Threads in the forum, bookmarks and files belonging to him will not be deleted. He will be removed from all current votes where he has not yet participated. If his name still appears in projects, a warning message will be sent. The delete action cannot be reverted. By introducing categories into the Help desk it is possible to automatically assign incoming requests to groups or users. Create or modify a category of the helpdesk and choose the user or the group, which should be initially responsible for this category. All specific request will then be assigned to this person or group. An admin can view the timecards of each user in his group and change wrong entries in the timecard. After a user has been removed from the system, only his private files have been deleted. His public files are now 'orphans' and can be removed as well or assigned to another user of this group. Besides the normal operations, which all users manage in the dialog 'options', the administrator can delete bookmarks (multiple select with the 'ctrl/strg'-key). Another good feature is checking out invalid links. If a particular link is not working in the result list presented in the next screen the check boxes could be used to remove the dead links. Just a precaution, if the server for that particular link is down and you are sure it is correct, do not delete as the action cannot be reverted. With this option you can remove old threads, according to the chosen time period, maximum is 60 days(maybe you want to make a backup before this action). Please note: only single articles will be tested for their age, but not a whole thread! Save Chat Script: By clicking on this link you can save the current chat transcript on your hard disk in order to keep a record or for archival purpose. In the file there will be an amount of the last threads which corresponds to the maximum file number set in the file chat.php (default value: 2000). Remove Chat scrap: If the last user of the chat forgot to logout, the alive file and the chat file still exist. They will be rewritten the next time the chat will be used, but if you want to get rid of them ... With this button you can remove such scrap. But please do it only when the chat is inactive! back |
