MIT Museum: A Forest of Sensors Exhibit

The Setting
Vision group researchers at MIT's AI Lab have positioned the computer's cameras to overlook a parking lot and segment of street on the MIT campus. The map below shows the field of view for the cameras' fields of view.

The image to the left shows an aerial picture of the area surrounding the MIT AI Laboratory. Overlaid onto this map are the approximate footprints of the five cameras which are currently being used to track people, cars, and other moving objects in this environment. The Problem
The computer is challenged with first tracking all moving objects that come into view of its cameras. In this case, moving objects are typically people, cars, and bicycles. All tracked objects are compared with other objects as to their size, shape, location, and behavior and then classified.
