This is a good point. SSL is important for people who want to
do commercial web sites.

I think people would definitely use it. SSL relies
on some RSA public key technology that must be licensed from RSA.
This poses a problem for free distribution, but we could look at
what Apache has done and how MIT distributes the PGP code.
