Abstract
Over the past five years, Lotus Notes has a grown into the leading
commercial software product which allows people to collaborate and
coordinate the activities of a business process. While many Notes
applications have transformed the way teams and companies conduct business,
the most innovative Notes applications have been those that go beyond the
boundaries
of a single organization to link business partners, customers and suppliers.
At some levels Notes and the World Wide Web share similar models of
information and applications. Their common client-server, semi-structured,
document-centric approach results in a natural fit between Notes tools
and the Web.
The InterNotes Web Server is a product under development at
Lotus which brings the information structuring, management, and application
development facilities of Notes to the World Wide Web.
