I am responsible for the two commercial Mac sites you pointed to. My
experience is that Cl-HTTP runs very well and far outperforms other mac web
servers for use in conjunction with our Interaction/IP application (web
server companion for dynamic page creation and social websites). It is THE
most cutting edge web server on the Mac.

It is a snap on the Mac, just open the file called "mac-start-server" and
choose "evaluate"... after some compilation the server is on air working.

May be you should get a Mac? (standard response from mac users when others
have a hard time ;-)

Of course, by now CL-HTTP is completely integrated into Interaction/IP so
it is started as a double-clickable application with no need to see or type
a line of LISP code. Digitool also provide CL-HTTP as part of their
InfoStop web application which recently was made available. For sure
Digitool is putting their bets on CL-HTTP even if they don't have it as
their server (I believe Digitool of convenience reasons doesn't have their
site in-house).
