Java ver 1.3.x from Sun Microsystems and a few additional files (see Setup Instructions - Java Setup)

An accessible database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft Access

Laureate for speech out or ViaVoice for both input and output (currently Windows only)

Room devices (lights, drapes, buttons) require LynX-10 modules and some (our projector) use serial port connections and any serial port expander (to get more than one port) should work with the Metaglue system. (currently on Windows only)

The first generally-released version of Metaglue is now here! Beta 0.5 can be downloaded for both Linux and Windows.
